My People are destroyed for lack of knowledge

Hosea 4:6

Although primary education in Belize is free through the age of 14, many children do not complete primary school. This is a very unfortunate and unacceptable reality. For those who do complete primary school, further schooling can be out of reach. The cost of a secondary education requires tuition, coupled with an entry exam that eliminates over 50% of students. To make the situation even more challenging, many students that are able to attend secondary schools often lack adequate school supplies and materials.

The Carlton and Sheila Arthurs Belize Foundation has already begun investing in the educational future of students in Belize through the Belize Foundation Scholarship Program. This program provides scholarships and mentorship to increase chance of success for selected recipients.

Continued efforts to provide school supplies and sound infrastructure will surely raise the enthusiasm for learning and open doors that were previously closed to hard working students. We believe that creating a positive environment for learning will make a difference.
